Students from the Young Regional Conservatorium Stage Band performing ‘Fix You’

Young Regional Conservatorium has been delivering music education and performance across the wider Hilltops region of southern NSW since 1984.

We provide tuition in the major centres of Young, Cowra, Boorowa, Harden and Temora, as well as in several less-populated locations including Murringo, Monteagle, Maimuru, Wombat, Woodstock and Ariah Park.

Lessons are offered to students of all ages, from young children to seniors, and at all stages of learning, from beginner to advanced.

The conservatorium provides individual and group tuition in several schools, as well as in our studios in Young, Cowra and Temora.

Young Regional Conservatorium is a member of the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums and as one of these 17 conservatoriums, receives annual funding through the NSW Department of Education’s Regional Conservatorium Grants Program.

Inspiring, Learning, Connecting.

Are you an accomplished musician with a passion for music or music education? We’re always on the lookout for musicians across all instruments and musical styles who are interested in sharing their knowledge through teaching. Whether you’re an active performer, retired professional, music educator, ensemble leader or a skilled musician looking to give back to your community!

What we offer

We provide individual and group lessons for students of all ages and at all levels of learning. Lessons are delivered by qualified and experienced music teachers, who cater to the needs of each student.

Music scholarships recognise talent and dedication, while bursaries provide financial support, helping students access lessons, perform, and continue learning regardless of circumstances.

Our ensemble and group lessons bring students of all ages together in choir, band, orchestra and instrument-specific ensembles (e.g. string, brass, flute), building skills, confidence, and teamwork through fun, collaborative performances.

School music programs bring the expertise of musicians and educators into classrooms, offering tailored lessons, choirs, bands, and ensembles that build skills, creativity, and engagement through fun, curriculum‑aligned learning.

Join a passionate community of educators inspiring students through music. Teach, perform, and make a real impact while growing your own practice.

Student concerts offer regular opportunities to perform, build confidence, and celebrate progress. See what’s coming up in our events calendar and support our students on stage.

A Message from our Patrons

Professor Anna Reid and Dr Peter Petocz

“The Young Regional Conservatorium is a talented, committed and thriving group of music educators, musicians and students. Such a group provides a focus for the musical, cultural and artistic life of the Hilltops community of Southern New South Wales. It provides musical opportunity for participation at a wide range of levels, from local community projects to musical preparation for the highest levels of study and practice of the most talented students.

Such a project deserves wholehearted support, and we are both very pleased to become patrons of Young Regional Conservatorium.”
